2010-07-20 : ART TREK #7

For the seventh consecutive year the small town of Antwerp (Belgium) welcomed the group exhibition Art Trek, undoubtedly the most freaky and indie festival in Europe dedicated to the illustration scene. Every year its precursor, Eva-Ephameron, invites a group of artists of different nationalities to join an exhibition where digitalisation and globalization go hand in hand with a growing desire for authenticity, crafts, creativity and personal contact.

From July 31 until 13 September, Galerie Mekanik houses a summer show conceived as a meeting point for young artists. "Street artists, illustrators, comic book artists and graphic designers meet each other and exchange inspiration on the internet. An initiative like Art Trek makes these meetings between creative souls possible in real life, and concretisizes the hybrid and colourful movement they are part of for the outside world" declares its curator. Behind the cut you can see some works by artists who are part of the show this year.
